Shenmue III: The Belated Sequel to the Martial Arts Action Games
Shenmue III is the third part in the series of martial arts action games. It serves as the series' revival and is available on the Play Station 4 platform. The game follows the story of Ryo Hazuki, a young Japanese martial artist from Yokosuka, who is on a quest to avenge his father's death. Accompanied by a young Chinese girl named Ling Shenhua, Ryo travels to Guilin, a mountainous region in China, to fight his enemies and fulfill his destiny. The game is set outside Japan, and Ryo can keep in touch with his friends back home by calling them on the phone. Shenmue III spent more than ten years in development due to high costs and came to be made through a crowdfunding campaign. The series' creator Yu Suzuki is planning more Shenmue games, so this is not the final part of the story.
